Just set up a new blog to allow the networking group BNI Edgbaston to promote itself.
It was a quick and cheap way to create a web presence and we should all benefit from the chance to post items about networking sessions and generate some of those valuable inbound links.

URL builder helping Waterra UK
My client Waterra UK have started using Google's URL Builder as part of their brand new newsletter.
Waterra, who are groundwater monitoring equipment specialists, are now able to track the effectiveness of their e-shots to a much greater level of detail now. URL Builder, which is hidden away in the Google Analytics help pages, allows you to "tag" links so that they show up in Analytics under the 'Campaign' heading.
Now it is true that a lot of email software will tell you how many click throughs that you have. What URL Builder does is give you an indication of what happens when people actually get to your site. You can tag multiple links in the newsletter (or blog or web page or whatever) or tag the mulitple instances of the same link to see what the most popular version is (e.g. 'click here' or 'read the latest Arrowsmith blog about URL Builder').
It's an very useful tool in measuring the success of your online marketing activity and it's both free and easy to use.

Barrusclet progress
Very pleased to see the Fabulous France website getting some good rankings now.
It is fascinating to see what impact changing meta page titles and tweaking the content can have. It's also fascinating to see how poor many competing sites are in terms of both optimisation and usability. Not sure if this a problem of developers not providing the extra input to make sites perform effectively or of clients who don't research how websites should work.
If you are interested Fabulous France is there to promote Barrusclet, a beautifully restored French farmhouse with swimming pool that's available to rent. It sleeps from 12 to 16 people and stands in 40 acres of its own grounds in South West France.
